A Message from the Board President

A heartfelt welcome to our new website.

As you click around the site, you'll be viewing our newest online showcase of assets.  And by assets, I mean our staff.  The professionals at CHC - audiologists, speech therapists, psychologists, social workers - are the reason why the Center for Hearing and Communication maintains its stellar reputation as the best place to address the needs of people with hearing loss.

My family and I first learned of CHC in 1998 when we suspected our 18 month old twins had an "issue."  At CHC, our twins were promptly diagnosed with hearing loss.  During those early years, the dedicated team at CHC fitted our children with appropriate hearing aids, taught our children to hear and to speak, and provided our family with all of the support and advice needed to cope.  Today our teenage kids attend a mainstream school and do all the things that normal-hearing teenage kids do.  I am so proud of our children's accomplishments and so grateful to the CHC staff who've helped them each step of the way.

After my family's experience, I joined the Board of Directors to give back to this wonderful organization and help make sure that CHC is there for the next family in need of these services.

Yes, this website is brand new, but CHC has been helping people with hearing loss for almost a century. Whether you know us by our League for the Hard of Hearing name which we proudly wore for 98 years, or our new name, our mission remains the same.  We help every infant, child and adult with a hearing loss who crosses our threshold seeking expertise and compassionate care.

If you think you could benefit from our services, please contact us via this site.  If you have experienced our services and wish to share your story, we'd love to hear from you too.  Everyone is encouraged to take advantage of our new blog.
